Antalya resident Özge Bozkurtoğlu won first place in Turkiye in the Young Translators Contest organised by the Ministry for the European Union (EU). A Young Translators Contest was organised by the Ministry for the European Union (EU) in Istanbul in order to increase the awareness of students in the translation fields of universities and contribute to the development of translators. 109 students in the final year of the translation field at 28 universities took part in the contest, which was held for the 3rd time this year.
Özge Bozkurtoğlu won first place in the English category. Özge Bozkurtoğlu, who has been working as an intern at İnterofis Translation Centre in Antalya for 3 years, said that her achievement had made her very happy. Bozkurtoğlu, who stated that she was in year 4 in the Department of Translation at Hacettepe University, said wanted to be successful in this profession after completing her studies.
Serhat Kunar, the owner of İnterofis Translation Centre, stated that they were very proud of the success achieved by Bozkurtoğlu, who has been working as an intern in the largest translation centre in Turkiye and the fourth largest in Europe. It was stated that the champion translator Bozkurtoğlu would receive her plaque form the Minister for the EU and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış and that she would be visiting the translation departments of the EU institutions in Brussels as her award.(DHA)
